I received my bachelor’s degree in Brain and Cognitive Science from the University of Rochester in 2015. After graduating, I worked as a research technician in Dr. Howard Weiner’s lab at the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases (ARNCD). There, I assisted in projects exploring the gut-brain axis in the context of neurologic disease. Specifically, we studied how the gut microbiome can influence immune function in Multiple Sclerosis. In April of 2019, I joined Dr. Schafer’s lab and I am interested in researching how dysregulation of autophagy modulates microglial inflammatory state within health and disease.
